Cooking For Style

Me and my mom is not a big fan of activity that usually people do in kitchen, such as ‘Cooking’. But we are a big fan of tea and chit-chat activity. Back then, my sister, my mom and me always spent one to two hour sitting in our un-stylish kitchen in our house just to have a cup of afternoon English tea and some snacks.
As we do it every day, my mom started to think what snack she could cook for me and my sister. So she began to learn and do experiment. She managed to make some snack that later become my favorites. So because I treasure this relationship and I enjoyed every single time that we share in the kitchen, I began to fall in love in kitchen and dining room design. I want to put my attention to more detail in designing kitchen and dining.
I always think to put different color scheme for my kitchen and dining. It’s going to look like another something “Wow” in my house after living room.
I want people who come to my house will always surprise every time they are entering an area.
So i never think about having grey to blue shade for my living room, but for kitchen, I thought about that a lot. Blue is always gives us ‘clean’ and soothing feeling.
Instead having too many steel and modern look, I choose to have wooden and classy look.
This picture reminds me about my mom, she is a very calm, comforting and warm person. So I like the idea having more chairs on the serving table area. Because you and your family member, relative or friends can have an interesting conversation while you prepare dishes.
Darker blue cabinet will be additional leisure to your eyes, not just a cabinet to store your needs. The Blue hood continues the modern classic style in this kitchen. Glossy white brick tile add some british country style pampering your mood.
Open hanging shelves and hanging rod for cooking tools perfect for kitchen which doesn’t have big space to store. They will give you airy feeling.

I really like white, but I’m not a person who can make a good friend with it. Regardless to how clumsy I am in spilling many things I love this nook area. White painted wood floor bring every white furniture blend perfectly yet showing the other color proudly.
Hanging lamp shade in the middle of the table steals the look. Long country bench looks comfort with warm grey seat cushion. I will definitely have a breakfast nook in my house and my mom’s. She will love to invite more relatives to her house, so she won’t feel alone anymore.

Breakfast nook doesn’t have to be big. And it has to be informal. So you can star your day very lightly and chesrrish the afternoon with warm in this nook.
I love this nook a lot. A country style chair and a coushion seeter will add soothing fell for your coffe or tea. The space is just perfect for little chit chat. Wrought iron chandelier and white mirror frame keep the nook more pleasant. So your nook is not a neglected part of the house.

Since a coffee and tea are a ‘must’ for ‘break’ activity, why don’t you take the colour of these beverages to be your color scheme for your nook. Warm tone colour like grey, ivory and brown delight space for resting area.
Random picture frames alert that a formality is forbidden in this area yet bring all the good memories back. Put more throw pillow to the cushion seeter, and ‘Walaaa’, a place that more relaxing than a country coffee shop that was your favorite place to hangout.

For the main dining area, I still aim for a classic glamour style that will have strong color. Like this dining area. Dark lavender wall voluntarily became a canvas for other element. A Framed earth crack painting break intimidates potential color and adds something to catch the eye.
Golden chair and brown cushion let the zebra table clothes take a stand in this room while the chandelier do its part to give the classic and elegant signature.

Probably I will fight with my future husband because of this amazing area that has been become my dream since I know pink color.

This dining room is ‘to die for’. I will give anything to have a dining room like this. Shocking pink color never dies. A princess color is not always for immature girl, pink color is for a female with a crown. So combine with black leather and gold frame Regency chair, you will never forget every meal you have in this room.
Wood paneling for below part of the wall adding warm dimension and offer you a France Empire looking to the room.
Golden Sunburst wall ornament and golden frame paintings proof that pink color suit for glamour style. And when you put it randomly, you won’t feel like you have to wear the Ball gown every time you want to have a meal.
So I promise I will learn to cook more….let’s bring the fine dining back to our home.

Starting with small apartment for classic and cozy living room

I dream to live in a ‘not too big’ house which I can decorate with Hollywood Regency style. But I can’t afford it right know.
Like common boyfriend and girlfriend, me and my boyfriend sometimes talking about our dream house, well actually it’s always come from my 'side'. You know ‘guys’, they are not so in to house decoration person. So we’ve been talking and discussing about how we are going to plan our future.
Probably we won’t be able to buy our own house after we got married (sometimes we discuss our dreams right? Although it might not happen, it’s still fun to talk about). So we are planning to rent an apartment.
So I was thinking it will be wasting money to do full decoration to a rent apartment, although for furniture I definitely will reuse it for my future home. So instead to have complete full of Hollywood Regency style, I might have modern baroque mix with chic style.
I always like colorful things. If I can have all color in this world in one house, I would. But I know that I cannot live with rainbow all the time. So I will blend nature colors (as primary color) with colors.

Instead of putting wallpaper in a wall, exposed rustic wall bring loft effect and informal feeling to this room. Different color and motive will blend very well with it. You can have friends coming and have a relax and comfort conversation yet they still can see the root of art inside of you reflected to the room (I think it’s more for people who adore art so much).
Chesterfield Sofa is a must for me; the look is beyond everything and suits to every interior style you want. It always brings you classy and cool look to balance everything that is too plain.
Cow skin rug adding ‘coolness’ to the room. A washed painted cement floor become more interesting and brings furniture come together.
Like usual, I like something that catch eyes. The Victorian standing lamp with floral lampshade shouts her presence in this room. Add something you like that describe who you are to the room. Like hanging Tie Dye Dress on the wall surely tell everyone who come to this room that you are a stylish person and love informality.
I like this art deco office arm chair with fabric combination. By putting it next to the Chesterfield sofa, your friend wouldn’t think that you are a boring old style person.

I like the Curtain a lot. Vintage floral motive combined with modern colorful stripes as a lining. Cannot be cooler than this. I will surely have the painting for my house.

Even a small aprtment or loft can looks classy and gives airy feeling if you have a monochromatic like the picture above. See through white curtain break the limit of your view.
Faux fire place give the room something to enjoy without have to do a lot of effort. Put a simple chrome frame and mirror to give highlite and avoid the room to be monotone.

If you move to an unfurnished apartment, and have a low budget for furniture, you can make your own art work like big paintings in the picture. A gigantic size will entertain all eyes although you have less. Buy a cheap sofa from IKEA or flea market, cover it with fabric. Put a lot of throw pillows (You can give the strong accent to the room from it) in different motives.
For me, I will sacrifice anything for Chandelier. Get the cheap one, hang it low, and it will transform your on budget and unfinished room to an art piece ‘worth to praise’ room.
Have a different kind of chair to keep the glam art sense flowing. A French Empire chair will add the glam of your room, paint it to rustic gold. To continue this excitement, sand papering can be done to white painted coffee table. You cannot be more pleased with the DIY Rustic Regency Look.
Decorating on the Budget can make you an artist who creates luxurious and beautiful things. So live like in the heaven even in a small loft or apartment.

Modern Glamour

Modern glamour style for interior really catch my breath since i start to getting serious in interior design business. I always like Classic and Baroque style when i was still in my university. I like extravagant and glamour look for my sense of art and even my fashion style. The strong point for this style is in the detail.

Modern Glamour style brings back the old Hollywod life style and modernism all together.
Inspired by glamorous styles of the 1930's Hollywood movie stars, Modern Glamour brings to mind luxury furnishings and a film star lifestyle, but you may be surprised at how easy it is to really attain this luxurious look.

Upholstered Bedhead
Full of detail traditional table
The pieces that will work in the Hollywood Glamour style, is piece with  details.  Take a look at these detail. Like knobs give you a deliciously old-fashioned look that fits right in with this aesthetic.

Another important touch when you are looking at Modern Glamour furniture designs is fabric.

Different kind of fabric enriched the glamour feeling in this room. Black velvet, Snake leather print PVC, Baroque motives linen and rug elevate the drama.

There is  no end to the patterns and fabric types that went with this kind of furniture, that's why i like it so much. The only rule is that it should be rich!   Silk for lampshades or cushion pillow, velvet or taffeta for drapes and chairs and couches that have been upholstered with thick, patterned fabric are all in line with what you are looking for.

Consider the colors that you want for your rooms.  While red and gold were certainly in style during the era, modern designers have added more cool tones, ranging from turquoise to a signature dusky charcoal. They even used bright colours.
To have a Hollywood Glamour room, you don't have to have a large piece of furniture. U can choose it in smaller scale which can blend to the room.
Make your self feel like a star everytime you go home. Try a Glamour life you can present for your self in daily basis.

Bold Dream

As a human ,i have a role models in my life. They inspired me in different area in my life. I have my mom who inspired me in how to face a life. I have my sister who inspire me to love a beautiful thing and create it. For interior designing i have Ron Woodson and Jamie Rummerfield.

High Style Designer

My dreams are determined by my facinating inspiration given by these people. I become more bold in my dream to be a decorator (interior) and designer after i saw their works.
I bought their book, it's quite costly but i never regret it. I can brainstorming for an idea everyday by looking at their book.
This are some drawing that i made for an apartment in Singapore. I have a classic modern in my mind for this apartment.
Living Room (Garden Vista Apartment Singapore)

This is my first apartment project, too bad the actual picture is not very good because of the camera. The owner of this apartment is so "pain in the ass" (sorry to say). But i'm happy enough to see the project finished.

Dining Room (Garden Vista Apartment)

For the dining room, feature wall that i made realy realy work to make the room looks glamour. I like double layer shade for the window. I use black horizontal blind made from wood and curtain. I put cornice for the entire house to keep classic feeling, and of course Chandelier as my main weapon!!
This house turn like white house in hand palm.

Still my Dream Wedding theme

I guess a lot of a woman like me still have a dream wedding for their own. Since i was young i want to be like princess or in my wedding. but as i grow i start to change my imagination about my dream wedding. Now i want to have a pure and innocent bride looks in my wedding.
Haha, it doesn't mean that i was a bad girl before...well probably a bit, or i want to be bad after the wedding. But i want to look like a pure angel. Yet i still think that even an angel can look sexy, so i want my decoration is more glam and sexy (what?).
I like woods and nature to be blend in my wedding, because i dream about a garden where the angel dwells. and a fell in love with this photograph. They inspired me so much.

Lazaro_2010_wedding dress
This photograph assured me that angel can look very sexy if they blend wit nature. Even the dress is not my style, her (the model) hair is still a "to die for" style.

Lazaro_2010_wedding dress2
This photograph is even better. Dropping flower and twisting branches inspired me for decoration i  want  in my wedding.
So my dream wedding theme would be "The Lost Angel". Sound very nice and ridicilous in the same time. But i don't care, i will still a dream anyway until right now.
(seen on weddinginspiration.com)

Because i love nature in autumn and i love red so much, i decided my theme colour for it are yellow, orange, red to maroon. and i found these idea that suits.

Idea for canopy
Flower for brides maids
Bridal bouquet

Wedding flower, but i prefer more maroon Cymbidium
And for the wedding dress, i love Empire waist dress. I like full length for the veil.Too bad i don't have the picture for my dress that i already choosed, but this dress is similar to what i want.
This Godess look dress  give a modest and clean cut to the bride. Every bride will look very angelic and pure with a dress like this.
Anyway, my wedding is not yet to happen. This is just my dream. Thank you for letting me sharing it with you. The rest of it , i will leave it to God.

Fashion and house interior

I like fashion a lot. My style is more like Japanese 'Kyo-gal' mix with smart casual. Sometimes i adore ladies who wear professional yet elegant clothes. But whenever i wear that...it's just to plain for me. So i think i'm not a plain style person either
Leopard jacket and shorts. something that very eye-catching to wear

For me boots are the key to look graet and i love hat a lot, it can change your appearance drasticaly. Plain...is away from here.

This some of my favorite style for daily work. even it doesnt have much colour, but they still look fabulous.

Plain white sofa can be look awesome and glamour with the surprising gold pillow. And a black painted wall can not be so bare and boring with a baroque mirror frame.

A white boring room can be look like a masterpiece because of over size paintings and chandelier. Add glamour style to the room, you can make it more contemporary if you hang it low, but remember to put coffee table or show table to avoid people walking under it.

You need something to decorate your working or study room or even your closet, i like this idea a lot to put a manequin with a matching dress or clothes to your room colour theme. And if you plan to change the colour theme you can change the dress easily with something match. Your room will never be boring.

Graphic 45, another level of wow!!!

I found motifs are very crucial in design. Whether  it's for interior designing, fabric designing, or anything related. Motif makes things looks different and adds price to it. So sourcing the idea for motif is very adventurous for me. Not only making my design looks good, but it colours my life everytime i see it.
I found this website which inspire me a lot. They produce decorative paper and supplies for scrap book. by the way i always want to do 'scrap-booking', but i don't have time yet.
They sell a lot of super nice paper with graphic design. And they categorized it in a very interesting name.
So i start to browse some beautiful patterns.
End up with dozens of idea popping out from my head..
