Like common boyfriend and girlfriend, me and my boyfriend sometimes talking about our dream house, well actually it’s always come from my 'side'. You know ‘guys’, they are not so in to house decoration person. So we’ve been talking and discussing about how we are going to plan our future.
Probably we won’t be able to buy our own house after we got married (sometimes we discuss our dreams right? Although it might not happen, it’s still fun to talk about). So we are planning to rent an apartment.
So I was thinking it will be wasting money to do full decoration to a rent apartment, although for furniture I definitely will reuse it for my future home. So instead to have complete full of Hollywood Regency style, I might have modern baroque mix with chic style.
I always like colorful things. If I can have all color in this world in one house, I would. But I know that I cannot live with rainbow all the time. So I will blend nature colors (as primary color) with colors.
Instead of putting wallpaper in a wall, exposed rustic wall bring loft effect and informal feeling to this room. Different color and motive will blend very well with it. You can have friends coming and have a relax and comfort conversation yet they still can see the root of art inside of you reflected to the room (I think it’s more for people who adore art so much).
Chesterfield Sofa is a must for me; the look is beyond everything and suits to every interior style you want. It always brings you classy and cool look to balance everything that is too plain.
Cow skin rug adding ‘coolness’ to the room. A washed painted cement floor become more interesting and brings furniture come together.
Like usual, I like something that catch eyes. The Victorian standing lamp with floral lampshade shouts her presence in this room. Add something you like that describe who you are to the room. Like hanging Tie Dye Dress on the wall surely tell everyone who come to this room that you are a stylish person and love informality.
I like this art deco office arm chair with fabric combination. By putting it next to the Chesterfield sofa, your friend wouldn’t think that you are a boring old style person.
I like the Curtain a lot. Vintage floral motive combined with modern colorful stripes as a lining. Cannot be cooler than this. I will surely have the painting for my house.
Even a small aprtment or loft can looks classy and gives airy feeling if you have a monochromatic like the picture above. See through white curtain break the limit of your view.
Faux fire place give the room something to enjoy without have to do a lot of effort. Put a simple chrome frame and mirror to give highlite and avoid the room to be monotone.
If you move to an unfurnished apartment, and have a low budget for furniture, you can make your own art work like big paintings in the picture. A gigantic size will entertain all eyes although you have less. Buy a cheap sofa from IKEA or flea market, cover it with fabric. Put a lot of throw pillows (You can give the strong accent to the room from it) in different motives.
For me, I will sacrifice anything for Chandelier. Get the cheap one, hang it low, and it will transform your on budget and unfinished room to an art piece ‘worth to praise’ room.
Have a different kind of chair to keep the glam art sense flowing. A French Empire chair will add the glam of your room, paint it to rustic gold. To continue this excitement, sand papering can be done to white painted coffee table. You cannot be more pleased with the DIY Rustic Regency Look.
Decorating on the Budget can make you an artist who creates luxurious and beautiful things. So live like in the heaven even in a small loft or apartment.
